Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a common learning difficulty that mainly affects reading and writing, with approximately 10 per cent of the population suffering from this condition.
Having dyslexia can make even the most simple of tasks extremely stressful, but this condition can be helped if you select the right eyewear.
Our principal dispensing optician Peter Sanders has performed extensive research into the links between dyslexia and vision, regularly speaking at various conferences to share his findings with other professionals.
With his expert knowledge, he can pinpoint whether you or your child are suffering from dyslexia, visual stress or a combination of both.
To reduce the phenomena of letters ‘jumping around the page’, we offer different lens tints, which can also ease visual strain.
But no two eyes are the same, which is why we’ll go step-by-step with you to make sure you receive lenses which are the perfect fit for your unique variant on the condition.
Computer vision syndrome
If you work in an office or look at a computer regularly, then visual impairments like dry eye syndrome are far more likely.
But enhanced reading lenses or ‘office lenses’ could be a solution to your problem.
Office lenses have a longer focal distance in the top half of the lens and shorter focus in the bottom half, for close up work. This will allow you to sit comfortably in front of your computer screen with your vision unharmed.
Dry eyes are also often a complaint of those who work in an office. Though air conditioned environments are notoriously bad for this issue, excess eyestrain is also a major cause.
Having a lens with combined distances will be will significantly reduce eye strain, reducing the likelihood of developing dry eye syndrome.
Our principal optician Peter has extensively researched reading glasses and computer-based visual issues, so you can rest assured that you’ll be advised by one of the best in the field.
